Archive for December, 2013

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 5,300 times in 2013. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.

Pickhitt: With deepest thanks for the creative and intuitive mind of my favorite person and fiancee`, Nina and WordPress for hosting because I couldn’t have kept blogging without you. ~ Naphtali

This, one of my favorite Amy Grant tunes, describes how I still feel years after my fiancee`, Inna and I departed to go our separate ways after our romantic London, U.K. interlude of 2013.

I was driving back to the room from a Holiday party and found my Amy Grant’s Greatest Hits CD in the glove compartment. And while “Baby Baby” is my all-time Amy Grant smash hit which reminds me of when I first discovered Amy while the overnight DJ on Atlantic City’s WAYV, FM, circa 1993, I feel this tune at this time, “The Lucky One”, describes and seconds my emotions while reflecting the progress that Nina and I made towards our future unison while connecting in England.
Here are a few more of the hundreds of “Mind Your Head” shots that we took in late October, 2013 – the highlight of my year with thanks to the heavenly Father, who without the divine intervention that brought Nina and I together, none of this travel (and my first-ever U.S. passport) would have ever come to pass.

Sunshine on My Shoulder

I try really hard to be a positive person. Admittedly, I’m not successful at this 100% of the time. I do fall into blue funks now and then, or struggle with only seeing the shitty things in life sometimes.

[Hey —  I’m awesome, not perfect.]

I find myself particularly struggling when I am around other negative people. I am sensitive to the moods of other people….so when someone that I’m close to is having a bad day, it often brings me down. The good news is that this works the other way, too — when I’m around happy and positive people, it makes me feel happy and positive too.

It can be tough to pull myself up out of a negative space when there’s negativity around me. It just is. I’ve realized lately that I’ve allowed myself to be pulled down by individuals and events around me. Not that…
